Weird spacing between letters in words

I've got a problem with weird spacing in a document I didn't create. The beginning of the document is fine. Then, later there seems to be extra spaces between letters in a word, but when I try to delete the space, the letter is deleted. The font in both is Calibri (Body) 11 pt. The line spacing is single space. The style is Normal. I tried to copy some of it here, but it doesn't show the problem well.

Does anyone know what I can do or look at to fix this problem?
