Post Linked excel cells not updating in word

Hello experts,

I have linked few excel cells in a word document, using paste special (paste link) option and saved the document as macro enabled document with .docm extension as i have few macros on other pages. When i close and re open document, there is no 'update link' option. Further when selected 'object' from context menu, it says 'linked object is no longer available'.

The surprising part is when saved the document in .doc format, the links are working. Does this mean the functionality of linking to excel cells does not work in .docm format? Is there any solution to this.

Thanks
Laxman
