HI! I have lease application in word ( all text with formatting and other elements ) that are static except for the top addresses that changes when I get a new building address to enter in.
I want these doc's to be in such a way that if I need to change something in the page ( Other than the address at the top ) that all the other "lease application's docs" that I have will change as well. I also need to be able to change the top part ( The address ) once only so this part can be none like normal and not part of the template. The docs I have do contain formatting and tables and I need this to remain intact as well so what kind of template or building/block etc...would be the best way to accomplish this? Its a bit like a footer or header but for Almost of the whole doc?. |

This has nothing to do with headers/footers. I understand your confusion, though.
You want to restrict editing. I find it easiest to do this using Protect Document on the Developer Tab but you can do it on the Review tab. The thing is that you probably want to include Content Controls for the variable information you want to type and allow editing of those for everyone. |

( I must not be explaining my question properly, sorry ). as not really about restricting access ( Although it would probably be a bi-product ) rather about not having to change 100's of documents that all have the same data just because of an addition or a small change in data.
Perhaps its more like a static/modal inserted object/template. where as file/files have data in them that comes from another master file. when I change that master file all the child files that have that data in them also changes. (Inheritances). |
