Default Customized numbering

I would like to set up a template to include the following numbering:

1:00
1:01
1:02 etc up to 1:12
2:00
2:01
2:02
2:03 etc
3:00

3:01 etc up to 3:10
and so on.

I am using Word 2007. I can't find how to modify the existing styles or to create new styles to achieve the above.
I would appreciate any help.

How to create numbered headings or outline numbering in Ribbon Versions of Word by Shauna Kelly
You cannot build a structure that ends at 10 or 12 but you can build one that you tell Word you want to start a new section, i.e. switch from 2 to 3.

Thank you. I have spent the last few hours trying to follow Shauna's instructions.
I have set up the paragraphs and list styles and saved the new template.
However, when I open a document based on the template, I can select Heading 1 and get 1:00 but when I press return, I get Heading 2 but it is not numbered. What am I missing, please?

You need to set up all of the levels as a part of one list template. Follow all of the steps in Shauna's article. This is convoluted and not intuitive, but it does work. Screenshots and a sample document are attached.

I'm not sure why it doesn't, but the screenshot for the list definition for level 2 should show that it is including numbering from the Heading 1 style.

I am not getting this! I can get the Heading 2 as your screenshot but it goes wrong after that. Is there anywhere I can look up what the whole set up should look like, please?

I really appreciate your help - sorry I appear dim. I grew up with earlier versions of Word but would really like to master this outline numbering in Word 2007.

Open the attached document "deleteme.docx." Work from there.

"It goes wrong after that..." doesn't tell me what is going wrong.

I have been trying to set up the list from Shauna's instructions. She uses the Multilevel List and says do not use the other options. I see from your deleteme.dox that you are using the Numbered List. Do you prefer this?

When I follow her instructions, on the Headings 1-9, I get

1:00
1:01
1:01
1:01
and don't see how to progress to 1:02, 1:03, 2.00, etc.

(BTW, I have just installed Office 365 but I don't think this will be too different from 2007.)
