Default I get this {shape \*mergeformat} when I select org chart from the Drawing toolbar.
Why? I get the subject when I try to create an org. chart.

If you click inside the braces, do you see a grey shading? In that case, what you see is a field code, and you can press Alt+F9 to hide it.
