Combing comments from Word 2007 & 2010+
Hello,
I have two questions: 1) Does anyone know if there are there any issues combining comments from different versions Word? I need to combine comments from 2007 and 2010 documents. 2) Do the files you are combining have to use the same file name? I will be combining comments from several different sources, each using a slightly different file name, and want to know if this will present any issues. Thanks you for your help. |

1. You should be able to use Review tab | Compare | Combine. This command combines revisions from several authors into one document. Modifications become tracked changes in the resulting document.
2. Filenames don't have to the identical. Personally I find it easier to work with different filenames, because it is easier to tell the source documents apart. See also http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/wo...132.aspx?CTT=1.

Thank you, Stefan. Regarding #1, but are there any known issues to using this feature using different versions of Word?

No, as far as I can remember, the feature is the same in Word 2007, 2010 and 2013.
