I subscribe to dozens of boards. Most of them have some ads. I don't think any of them have ads that are as obnoxious as the ones here. But then I don't think any of them have an option to opt out of the ads, either, at least I'm not aware of it. But then I wasn't aware of that option here either.

A few boards offer an ad-free option for a subscription fee. I am a paid subscriber on many of those. I hate ads, but I'm also not looking for a free lunch. I think this whole mentality that the Internet should be free is a cancer on society. It's a toxic mantra that has been sold to a gullible, cheapskate populace by clever people on Madison Avenue who do
