Custom defaults for #d paragraphs
I'm wanting to change the defaults on numbered paragraphs in Word to match the hierarchy of a normal outline (I, II, III; then A, B, C; then 1, 2, 3; then a, b, c; then (1), (2), (3); then (a), (b), (c). I'm not seeing where it will let me do the (1), (2), (3). Has anyone else out there conquered this problem? I appreciate any help you can give me!

In the multilevel list dialog box, just type in the parentheses, after you have selected the number format you want.
For everything on multilevel lists, see http://shaunakelly.com/word/numberin...g20072010.html.

I second Stefan's recommendation of How to create numbered headings or outline numbering in Ribbon Versions of Word by Shauna Kelly.
Once you have a list you like, you can save a document with those styles as a template and use that. Also, you could simply save them to your normal template. |
