Question How to Create a Product Catalogue

I am looking to create a product catalog for the company I work for and i'm not sure how to go about it.

I work for a forklift company, my boss is not computer literate and no one else has time to look at this for him. He currently copies and pastes spec info from other email quotes he sent which contains pics, spec and terms and conditions obviously this is time consuming.

I could create a simple one page document for each product as it will contain a couple of pictures and the spec for the forklift, but if possible, I would like to use it as a quote that would contain our price etc and have the terms and conditions.

My boss may prefer to have it as a spec sheet and have the price info in the email but this would be splitting the information up; that is my thought.

Just to let you know this would only work for the manufacturers products and not for 2nd hand stock.

Thanks for your input

Default Catalogue

There are a number of questions to be asked before determining how best to meet your needs. However, my recommendation would be to find a local source who can create a template for you that will minimize the work you need to do. This could be fairly simple, or it could include a number of fields that would draw in linked images, fill in estimate data through a linked Excel sheet, etc.

Word is not the first application that comes to mind for a product catalogue, (InDesign fits the bill better), but if you don't need anything very sophisticated, Word can serve. However, without facility in creating the template, you will likely end up expending considerable time and effort.
