Word keeps moving my bullet to the end of the page

Help, I have to do this work & can't do it b/c Word keeps shoving the bullet all the way to the end plus it won't let me choose the bullet style I want.

I thought maybe using a circle would solve the problem, but it's not.

Without actually seeing the problem document, it can be difficult for anyone to diagnose the issue from such an ambiguous description. Can you attach a document to a post with some representative data (delete anything sensitive)? You do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab at the bottom of this screen.

Hi,

I figured as much.

So here's a SS. See where my cursor is on the right? That's the bullet.

That's where it goes every time I click on it & I can't control what kind of bullet I get.

I finally figured out a work around by using Shift Ctrl L, but that won't give me the arrow, only a circle, plus it doesn't teach me what I'm doing wrong. I don't think I did anything wrong, I think Word is just being Word & I want to strangle IT.

It wasn't doing that last night until the very end of my day. I was so exhausted I gave up & then today forget it, I couldn't get it to work at all.

Styles isn't easy for me. I've tried to follow instructions from sites that have them & it never works for me.

It also won't let me unbold a line b/c then it unbolds the line above it too. Just nuts!

I did suggest you attach a document - not a screen shot. The latter is useless for diagnosing this issue.

Hi there,

Sorry I was half asleep last night.

I really can't attach the doc. This is my client's work & it's very long & dense & I just don't feel comfortable handing it out to the entire world.

When he got it back to me suddenly the bullets worked with NO problem. Then I just finished one company, moved onto the next one & BANG again.

Now I can't even get the bullet to show up at all <sigh>

I HATE WORD.

As I suggested in post #2, all we need to see is a document with some representative data (i.e. delete anything sensitive). We don't need the whole document - a page with just the problem content would be enough.

Here it is with just the pages that won't let me insert bullets.

After I deleted the other 100 or so pages it let me place a bullet on one page, but it was indented.

After closing the file (well I did a save as to give you the truncated version) now it's back to working again. <sigh>

Your bullet (on page 3) is formatted in the 'List Paragraph' Style with a 2.25in first line indent and a further 0.5in indent for the subsequent lines. It doesn't appear to be up against the right margin as in your screenshot in post #3. I do note though, that your screenshot in post #3 indicates that your document had the grey space at the right that indicates you had it configured to show comments & tracked changes in balloons. Maybe there was some interaction going on there.

So sorry I never got back to you. I've just been swamped with some really important things.

I never configured any list styles, as I still don't know how to do list styles properly.

I've since tried to find people to train me on my own computer via Teamviewer & no one has been skilled enough

FWIW, the 'List Paragraph' Style with the bullet was probably auto-assigned by Word when you clicked on the Bullets button on the Ribbon's Home tab.
