Default Using the Navigation Pane with modified styles

I am creating a template and need one of the following methods to work.

1. modify the indents on existing styles OR
2. have my created styles with appropriate indents show up when using the Navigation Pane.

Either solution is acceptable. Anybody know how to do either task?

Susan
