Default Word is displaying words very slow

Hello,

At first I want to say hello to everyone here because I'm new.
The main point I registered an account here is to get some help from people who have experience with these programs.

Since a short time I've got some issues with word 2010. Windows xp got removed from my pc and they installed Windows 2007 on it, but the problem is, since they installed Windows 2007 on my pc, that word is somehow very slow. When I open word files, and type some letters there is a delay of 5-6 seconds before every letter I typed shows up.. I've looked on the internet but didn't get a clear answer or solution to this problem. I did restart my pc and scanned with Panda Anti-virus but nothing seems to help.

Maybe one of you guys could help me out?
Thanks for reading, I'll check this thread regularly.

Greets,
Remi

Do you mean Windows7 by Windows 2007 ?

First, you should check this issue in safe mode of Word. To start Word in safe mode [hold ctrl key while startup]. If typing in Word works well in safe mode, then this issue is caused by some add-ins. To fix this disable all add-ins.

If this issue also occur in safe mode, then damaged or missing fonts can cause the issue that word runs slowly when you edit in Word. To correct this problem, remove and reinstall the fonts.

It's not clear why you replaced Windows XP but, when that was done, your system should have been wiped and everything re-installed from scratch. Upgrading from Win XP to Win 7 may leave you with a system that doesn't run properly, especially if some of what was upgraded wasn't entirely compatible with Win 7. So, how was the upgrade done? Have you taken the PC back to whoever 'they' are to have it fixed?
