I have inserted shapes in to a document but my cursor is "stuck" above the shapes. If I "enter" the cursor moves down the page but so do all the inserted shapes. I can not get my cursor below the shapes my using the mouse, either. I just want to continue creating my Word document beyond the shapes.


As you can see I can easily move my cursor past the emoji - LOL!

Try Ctrl-A, Ctrl-X, Enter, Ctrl-Home, Ctrl-V, Ctrl-End, in sequence.

I was not able to replicate the problem (re-created the document yesterday with a work-around) to use this technique but will use this reference in the future. I understand the methodology and it makes sense. Thank you so much.

I don't understand why or how but your tip put my cursor
below my shape in word 2010....Exactly what I was trying to do
for about a half hour without success.

There are probably simpler ways but without seeing the problem document, it's hard to advise. The workaround I posted is a fairly brute-force approach:
1. Select and cut the entire content from the document
2. Insert an empty paragraph
3. Paste the cut content back into the start of the document
4. Go to the end of the document.

That didn't work for me, but I clicked on the object and clicked the positioning button to the right of the object and then chose "fix object on page".

Worked for me.

I have spent the last 40 minutes trying to do just this, so thankyou!

I used CTRL-A then CTRL-X, then I pressed and held down Enter for about 5 pages, and then CTRL-V.

It works, it's a miracle and you guys just saved my ass.
