I don't know what advice that was, but I don't know of any that might be relevant, since you shouldn't need to download anything. All you should need to do is:
a) make sure your computer's regional & keyboard settings are all properly configured for Australia & Australian English; and
b) set Australian English as the default proofing language in Word (e.g. in File|Options|Languages),
including removal of the US English keyboard/language options. Having done that on my system, Australian English is always the default.
