Display txt in real-time
Is there any way to combine plain text file (.txt) and images interactively.
I mean, you still editing txt file in one plain text editor (like notepad etc.) and all changes are displayed in Word. This type of work can be really great for programmers who need to write code with illustrations for students or books. Maybe Word have plugins or scripts for this kind of workflow ? |

Not with text files (at least, not without a third-party addin written for the purpose). Although you can link to them from Word using an INCLUDETEXT field, the link won't update until you both save the updated text file and refresh the field in Word. I am not aware of any a third-party addin written for this purpose.
With DDE-aware applications such as Excel, though, using a LINK field in Word to connect to an Excel range allows changes in the Excel range to update in Word in real-time.

INCLUDETEXT field works great for me, thanks.
But there is a problem with tabed text. When i use tab key in plain text editors it makes equal (4-space) distance between words. After i import this txt in word with Includetext, space between words are not equal. How can i solve this ? |

You will probably need to format the Word range to use a fixed-width font for that.

The only way I can get variable-width spaces is if the paragraph format containing the INCLUDTEXT field in Word is set to 'justified'.

Justify didn't help.
To avoid any misunderstandings. Here is screenshot of a problem text. And by the way why does F9 change page orientation to Portrait. Even when i already save docx document it still change page orientation. You can change default template C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Temp lates\Normal.dotm to landscape page orientation. When you update INCLUDETEXT field whole document keep landscape page orientation and text in INCLUDETEXT field don't. It still have portrait orientation and it can't be changed. Your layout suggests you have tab stops, not spaces between the columns. Have you formatted the Word paragraph to use the same tab intervals?
As for F9, that does not ordinarily change the page orientation in Word. It is for updating fields. If that is not happening, it suggests someone has re-assigned the F9 key on your system.

I would like to avoid using tab stops.
That's the main reason of using INCLUDETEXT. The F9 button is updating INCLUDETEXT fields and for some reason applies default template to both: document and INCLUDETEXT field. There is no reassigned buttons on this computer. |

Tabs vs spaces seems to come up quite often in Notepad++ groups – try http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8...nstead-of-tabs

The issue may have something to do with text file links. You can prevent the change back to portrait by inserting a continuous Section break into the document before the INCLUDETEXT field, and setting the document orientation to landscape.
