How to get word to default to "underline" without having to press ctrl+u every time?
Hi. I'm trying to fill out a lot of forms where the blank spaces are just underscores. What I do is press insert to go into overtype mode and then turn on underline to write on top of the blank lines. However, every time I move my cursor to another field, the underline turns off so I have to press ctrl+u each time. Since I am filling out a lot of forms, I was wondering if there was a shortcut, perhaps a simply macro, to set "underline" on as the default setting. |

The preferred way of doing this would be to have the fields underlined or, if you're not using fields, in table cells with:
• a bottom cell border; or • underlined tabs that will get pushed out of the way as the data are entered. The latter is preferable if you want to allow multiple data rows in the same cell.

Thanks.
But in my case, there are a lot of fields spread across many documents --too cumbersome to go through and underline individually, and I was wondering if there was a simple macro to keep the underline setting on. |
