Question Formatting changes automatically after closing file.

Hi Forum-mates,
how r u all?
i'm facing a peculier problem and need your help into it;
I've MSOffice 2007 on my Win XP machine.
the problem is; many a times my Word file changes its formatting and placement of objects automatically when i open the file.

suppose i have a file with 1-2 images, 2-3 footnotes, 1-2 end notes and 10-15 paragraph of text.
it usually have the articles that i would type for sending in some journel.
basically I format them so that it would get printed as it is; the images and all. i take print-outs everyday before leaving my place.

now, when next time i reopen the file (say after a day or two) i notice changes in placements of the images, footnotes etc... if i have 3pager document, it would become 4 pages.
i'm facing this problem since last 3-4 years; and had this problem even with word 2003.

i have latest anti-virus installed and keep it updated every-week.

has any one heard or faced such problem.
please update me with your suggestions.

thanks

Default Format changing

Linked text can be set to update automatically.

Also, the styles in your template can do the same. For the latter, go to the Templates and Add-ins dialogue (with your document open, press Alt +T,I, or click on the Template icon in the Developer tab of the ribbon (you may have to activate this in the Office button options). In the Templates and Add-ins dialogue, top left, uncheck the box that says "Automatically update document styles" if it is checked.
