How to get rid of annoying alert on Save
When editing a Word document (Word 2010) with tracked/marked changes enabled, every time I do a save I get an alert stating:
The document being saved contains comments and tracked changes. Continue with save? I don't need or want to be reminded every time I save- how can I get rid of that annoying nag popup? I have looked in Options but can't see anything relevant. Thanks |

Go to File|Options|Trust Centre>Trust Centre Settings>Document-specific settings and uncheck the 'Warn before ... ' option.

Thank you, that works - but from what I can see, only for the current instance of Word. Is there a way to make Word retain that setting from one instance to the next?
Is there a VB command that I could put in an On-open macro? I tried recording the setting, but it didn't give me anything. Thanks |

The setting applies to Word, as an application, not to just the current session.

Hi Paul -
I would have thought that would be true - but not so. I can turn off the warning for the current session of Word 2010, but as soon as I close Word and reopen it, the option setting reverts back to "On", even though I open the same document from a trusted location on my local hard drive. Is is possible that Word has been configured by our IT group to reset various options each time it opens? Thanks |

Yes, that's possible.
