Default Converting Word file into PDF

Hello!
I was wondering if anyone could please suggest some proper software to convert Word documents (.docx) into PDF files? I have a report that is due soon and I simply cannot get it to convert without something going wrong.

Certainly using MS Office 2010 itself to create a PDF isn't cutting it. Most commonly it's the equations (I've used Equation Editor a lot) that don't convert nice at all. Same goes for the images (charts etc.) that may suffer much loss of quality.
So, any suggestions? Would be nice if something free could do the trick quickly and without trouble. And I have an upcoming thesis too, which I'd like to convert to PDF. Would hate it if all the equations are a mess.

Thanks in advance! You can make my day!
