"Keep with next" not working, footnote gets in the way
Hi there!
I've noticed that the option "Keep with next" paragraph does not work as I'd expect it to work when the paragraph that has this option checked encounters a footnote. Then it thinks, 'well I'm not the last guy on the page, there's a footnote below me so I'll sit here.' And so the heading gets separated from the normal text, which starts on the next page. It looks like that: • HEADING (keep with next) -------- ¹ Footnote. Page number and next page starts here: Text text text text. Now I'm not a newbie to Word, I've been using it for years, I know better than to insert two ^p one after another etc. Also, my Normal text style doesn't have "Keep lines together" or "Keep with next" checked, as I know this would make it impossible for Word to keep everything together. So do you have any idea of what I might be doing wrong or is it just how it's supposed to be? But gosh, it looks awful Thanks in advance, vpprof |

OK, I'm sorry, it turns out the real problem was, there was a picture anchored to the paragraph of normal text below the heading. Even though I still don't see why it should make Word act like that, I anchored the picture to the next paragraph (without changing its position on the page) and now everything works fine.
Gosh, I love Word, there's so much to discover about this software… |
