Default Author in a Panic..some text is now gibberish!

Man,...I sure hope someone has a fix for this:

Today I opened up my book that I'm writing in Word03 and much to my horror, noticed not only was it shorter than I had left off (about 4 pages shorter) but the last part of the last page was converted in some sort of encrypted gibberish that looked exactly like this:

Teddy, you have been thrown around into some pretty uncomfortable situations in your short time here on this planet. I know it has been4;K__pF%_#_M_Aj_+_;h)_;5 ;z~;Rʹx;P.h;4_;9?s;;e;_ :c;~_*;W_ݺ_;=޻__;_eD1:لV9y _Y_`_'0#Q4»;/_t+____53W#JA^Vݖh _ü9I㬵ZfQÖq_B Y~

Desperate, I have tried embedding and running a macro (sub symbol convert) straight from Microsoft, and it did not help whatsoever.

Then I tried two apps online that supposedly recover Word Docs,...but they proved worthless as the trouble is not in recovering the file,..BUT recovering the text in the file!

Before I have to rewrite these pages,...does anyone know what could have caused this (Virus check proved OK)? Anyone know how to decipher that gibberish I pasted above?

Default Same problem

It worries me that the original post is eleven years old and there are no suggestions ...!... but as a matter of interest, I'm experiencing the exact same problem

Kindly don't resurrect long-dormant threads. I seriously doubt the OP is still having the same problem. Thread closed.
