I am trying to use autocorrect on Word 2013. When a word is miss-spelled the red wavy line appears, I then right click on the word where a list of options appears but the autocorrect word option is not there. Instead I just have to select the correct word from the list every time this appears. I know i can just go into Options and add it there but this is cumbersome. Is there not a way to go directly to the autocorrect dialogue box when right clicking on the miss-spelled word???

The command to which you are referring has been removed from the context (right-click) menu in Word 2013. What you can do is add the AutoCorrect command to the Quick Access Toolbar. Click File tab | Options | Quick Access Toolbar and look for the AutoCorrect Options command (in the "All Commands" category), the one with "(AutoCorrect)" in the screen tip when you rest the mouse pointer on it.
