I don't think Microsoft has a 2014 version so I'm not sure what you're asking.

Thanks for responding.
The document I was trying to open has the extension: "2014". It is not a Word document but some "odd" format and I could not find any way of opening it.

Without knowing what file format is being used, it's impossible to advise what program to use. '2014' is not a recognised extension for any software I'm aware of.

Thanks for replying. The file is just called: doc1.2014. When I try to open it, I get a message saying it is not recognised and suggesting I "use the Web Service to find the correct program". I found this:
http://www.bing.com/search?FORM=WINF...extension+2014

However, I am reluctant to try any of these.

Your reluctance could be justified. Unless you know that this file is significant, ignore it, and do not download anything from SysTweak.

Do you know what program created the files?

Without actually seeing one of these documents, it can be difficult for anyone to provide specific advice. Can you attach a (preferably small) representative document to a post? You do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab at the bottom of this screen. You may need to add the file to a zip archive first.

Your attachment is an ordinary Word document. Simply change the '2014' to 'doc' and you'll be able to open the file with MS Word.
