Unhappy How do I undo auto striking when I type?

I sent a document to a client to make some changes and he sent it back to me, however now, when I try to make corrections...the letters are red with a strike out line thru everything I type. Please help me stop this.

"Track Changes" are turned on. In the center portion of the "File" ribbon where it shows "Tracking", simply change the top drop-down option from "Final: Show Markup" to "Final". Your changes to the document will still be recorded but, will not be shown as you type.

Here is some info on the topic that may help you: http://shaunakelly.com/word/sharing/...ngesworks.html.

Hope this helps...

You have probably inadvertently enabled Track Changes. On the Review tab, see if Track Changes is highlighted. You can click it again to turn off the tracking, or you can press Ctrl+Shift+E.

To get rid of the existing tracked changes, click the arrow on the Accept button, and then click Accept All Changes In Document.

emeraldfalls: Please don't post the same question multiple times. All that does is create confusion and overlapping replies. I've merged your questions into one thread.

Just discovered while considering a reply that in 2010, right-clicking on the Status bar lets me add an indicator to show whether Track changes is active or inactive! I've been missing this, so thanks to emeraldfalls for the question.

The Track Changes option on was displayed by default on the status bar in Word 2003. Now we have to manually add it back. I guess that's what we call progress. ;-)
