Default Cant change header size in Word 2010

Hello, I received a Word doc from someone and it has appr 10 sections. in section 10, which is 4 pages, the height of the header is different on each page, and on all of them it is much too high (i.e. normal document text on those pages start at about 3" from the top of the page). I cannot seem to reduce the size. Can someone please help?
Thanks!

I suspect that the section has vertical alignment of "Center."

Hi Charles,

Thanks for the great advice - it worked! I was so frustrated and would never have thought of that. (BTW, the above link says "server not found")

Thanks again!

I fixed the link.
http://www.addbalance.com/usersguide...n.htm#Vertical

The key was that within one section the starting distance of the body text from the header was changing. This vertical alignment is almost a secret control in Word. It is amazing that people find it at all; and when they do, it is almost always a problem! (Or maybe we only hear about it when it becomes a problem.)
