I am writing an equation in word. I want to write a letter and near it a subscripted letter near it, at a fraction
for example: 2 / Dc I want to write c as a subscript. When I am in euqtion writing mode, it is not letting me do that. How can i make c as a subscript? I also tried writing Dc as c subscripted in normal writing and then inserting by pasting in fraction but it didnt work |

In the equation editor of Word 2007 you can use underscore to create subscript (and you can use ^ to create superscript). After you have entered (say) x_y in an equation, click the arrow on the right and choose Professional from the menu.

It should definitely work.
However, a similar question showed up in the Word forum of the Microsoft Community recently, and it appears that the location where you enter x_y (etc.) makes a difference. Could you post a screen shot of your entire equation?
