Word 2000...Can't customize keyboard shortcut

Word 2000 with XP Pro

I have previously successfully added keyboard shortcuts for tables. Now, when I attempt to customize, as soon as I click "keyboard" Word 2000 locks up. I have to abort the application. It just happened without my changing anything... that I am aware of.

I have deleted all Normal.dot files. Also deleted Normal.dot files and restored older .dot file I had saved. Also, I reinstalled Word 2000. Nothing has helped.
