Default Circling your selection on word vs check box or radio button

Hello there,
I am working on updating our Employee Evaluation form and instead of having the evaluator select their rating by checking a text box next to a number (example: 1 [check box], 2 [check box]). I would like to have a the evaluator click on the number and have that number be circled or indented. Is there a way to do this on Word?
thank you!
Norma

Hi Norma,

It's not clear how the indenting etc would apply in relation to the other numbers/checkboxes or how you would propose to circle the numbers. An alternative would be to use a table structure and, perhaps, highlight the cells that have been checked. For some ideas to get you started, see:

PS: Please post Word-related threads in the appropriate Word forum, not in the Office forum. I've moved the thread to the Word forum.

Is it possible? Probably?

Is it possible in a simple way? Probably not.

Look at the Checkbox Add-In on my site or Add Interactive Toogle or Sequenced Object to Document on Greg Maxey's site. These look at methods of changing the appearance or content of a document based on a user click. However, they also involve macros and in the case of the Checkbox Add-In AutoText.

See also Conditional Text using IF fields and Content Controls

The bottom line is, is it worth the effort?
