Default Remove Manual Line Breaks not working

Hi,

I'm trying to remove the blank lines in some text that I copy and pasted from a website.

I've followed the advice on this page, which is to use the Find and Replace to search for the Manual Line Break character, ^l. I also tried using the VBA code that they have, and by recording my own macro. However, none of these methods have removed anything. When I run the Find and Replace, it says it made 0 replacements.

I have copy and pasted a sample of the text below. Please let me know why this isn't working or any other ways I can make this work. Thanks!

Text:

Abilities:

• Strong listening skills including the ability to assess client needs, encourage engagement with all clients/stakeholders and collaborate on the identification of the right key performance indicators (KPIs) based on marketing objectives and stakeholder feedback.

• Ability to influence different audiences and communicate in both technical and business terms.

• Self-motivated with the ability to work under tight deadlines with multiple deliverables and changing priorities.

• Effective presentation skills; adept at developing communications.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills to keep information flowing between all relevant parties.

Are you sure they're manual line breaks and not paragraph breaks? If you click on the ¶ symbol on the Ribbon's Home tab, manual line breaks will look like ↵ and paragraph breaks will look like ¶.

For a general-purpose clean-up macro for text pasted from web sites, emails, PDFs, etc, see: https://www.msofficeforums.com/word/...html#post32907

Default Thanks!

Thanks for the tip, you were right, they were the paragraph character.

What i did was search for "^p^p", and replace that with "^p", so that it only removed blank lines. If I just replaced "^p" with nothing, then it made it into one big block of text. I appreciate the help!
