Tracking Changes and actually showing them in prints
I have to update the same (rather long and boring) document on a regular basis and need a way to indicate what has been updated. I have seen some printed documents where the there is a line on the left hand side to indicate that something has been revised.
When I use track changes to do this I end with problems because if e.g. I delete a line of text in the middle of a paragraph I have to accept the change for the deletion to take effect and then no line is shown on the left hand side. 1 Actual Word.png The pic above is what I want and what is shown in word. 2 Printed.png This is what is actually printed 3 - Revision accepted..png This is what happens if I accept a change. So - how do I keep the lines on the right hand side when I delete something? /Møller |

That is all a matter of choosing the appropriate Track-Changes options. Set the deleted text to 'hidden' to prevent it showing on the printout (make sure Word's 'print hidden text option if 'off'). Do not accept the changes; if you accept a change, you lose the tracking bars too. That's unavoidable.

Much appreciated. I have added screenshots of this for future reference should anyone need it.
