Word 2010 Header/Footer Templates Missing

I am currently taking a course for college in Office 2010, in my Word section of my textbook it says to locate the Header and Footer templates and use certain ones for my assignments, but when I click on the headers and footers there is no templates available. I have tried reinstalling Office and this has not fixed the issue and have searched online but have been unable to locate any information to address this.
