Word 2010 characters per line glitch
I use Windows 7 and Windows 2010, New Courier Font, with a 55-character line length. When finished typing, I clean up my document, add the headers, delete empty lines at line 1, etc. Sometimes I even print this Version A.
For some reason the document occasionally changes whereby the last line in a paragraph then either loses a character or adds a character, and the pagination throughout changes. I'll call this Version B even though I haven't necessarily saved the document or closed it. My printed Version A no longer matches what I'm looking at on my screen. And after incorporating all the changes that now need to be made (or unmade) to make Version B look the way it's supposed to, everything flips back to Version A. How do I keep the final paragraph line consistent and NOT changing? (This situation is akin to when paragraph symbols with an old printer could be character 56, but with a new printer were character 55 or less, meaning I could not reprint old documents and have them match the ones originally printed.) Some days I'm ready to tear my hair out! |

Without actually seeing the problem documents, it can be difficult for anyone to diagnose the issue. Can you attach a copy of each version of the document to a post with some representative data (delete anything sensitive)? You do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab.
