Question Unprotecting specific fields on a Protected Document

I am creating a Document Template which has dropdown menus. There is a requirement to input some variable information - if there is no info to input, these fields will not be required - so I need the user to be able to delete the unnecessary feilds.
Is there any way to have the protection of "fixed fields" but the option to delete "variable content" where necessary?

Is this possible? Appreciate your help.

Default Protection

Well, I'm last person in the world to answer questions about coding, but what I do know, is that if sections are created in a form document, one has the choice of selecting which sections are protected and which not. After creating more than one section, you'll see a new link under the Filling-in forms choice at right, for choosing sections.

Hope this helps.

Best,

Yes, but that doesn't allow the user to delete the unwanted Sections - they and the space they occupy will still be in the document because you can't delete their breaks and you can't reformat them, either.

If you're using content controls, you can use the read-only editing restrictions on the portions of the document you don't want people to edit, with exceptions for the content controls in those areas, and leave the deletable content controls with no editing restrictions and not checking the 'content control cannot be deleted' option for them. Then, even with protection applied, to delete those content controls your users can right-click on them and choose the 'Delete content control' option.
