Default Protected Document (Form) that allows Spell Check

I'm trying to create a form in Word that allows users to fill in text. How can I protect the original text of the form from being altered yet allow spell checking to the fill-in parts of the form? I know how to protect a document, but that doesn't allow spell checking on the text that is inserted by users. If I allow users to remove the protect document setting, then they are able to change the original text of the form, and we don't want that.

Have it so the user can only start the process; either by a BeforeSave, or a OnExit type of macro. The macro, once started, does the processing then protects again. Look at:

http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/MacrosVBA/...ProtectDoc.htm

or try googling.

Fumei,

Thanks for the quick response, but I'm even more confused now. I haven't created many macros.

In the link for the macro that you provided am I supposed to copy the whole text (it was 4 pages long)? The text is in three colors: blue, black, and green. Is language in all three colors included in the macro (or just the blue, or just the black, or just the green)?

Sorry to bother you, but I'm feeling very dense after reading about the macro.

Thanks!

See Installing Macros

Or, you can download the sample. It has the macro in it.

You are going to have to learn at least a bit about macros if you want to do this.

You could put the sample in the Word Startup Folder and use the macro from your forms. You could even assign the F7 key to the macro in your form.
