We are currently experiencing an intermittent issue effecting 2 people whereby a user is working in Word and it will lose focus. To restore focus, Shift Tab to different application then back to word, or minimising and back to word both work.

Both users have word 2010 installed on windows XP.

The occurance of the issue has varied from multiple times a day to once a week. The first occurance of the issue happened on 26/11/2013.

We have seen the KB313176 and the suggestion to resolving the issue is to turn off advanced text services, this has been turned off on one of the machines and the issue has still occured.

Would you please be able to advise on what may be causing the issue.

Admittedly, I know nothing about this issue but, when googled, this is the first thing that popped out to me:

Do you have Windows XP SP3 installed as directed indicated here: https://support.microsoft.com/kb/313176/EN-US?

If so, hopefully, other users/experts/MVPs may have a further suggestion.

My apologies for not already mentioning it, we do have Windows XP SP3 installed on both PC's, Also each office is 2010 SP1 ver 14.0.6029.1000 on both PC's.
