Default Replace with superscript in Word 2013

When I finish typing a load of letters, I find/replace the default formatted date (eg "07 April) with my preferred format (7th April). Easy, BUT, if I try to replace with the ideal format with the "th" superscripted I don't seem to be able to.

The obvious thing to do is to change the default date format, but I have not found that either.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
