Also the square wingding size should be 2 lines.
Thanks for helping. |

What application is this for? We have separate forums for Word, Excel etc. but you've posted in the generic Office forum.

Right at the top of this forum is a thread titled '*** Do not post WORD questions here! ***'...
I'll move it to the correct forum.

To do this, I'd suggest inserting the Wingding somewhere in the document, all correctly formatted. Then copy it and use Find/Replace, where:
Find = --- Replace = ^c I'm not sure, though, what you mean about the two lines - characters can only occupy only one logical line, though you can raise/lower characters via the Format>Font>Advanced dialogue. Even then, however, you may need to increase the paragraph line height to get the desired effect.

Insert > Symbol > More Symbols > Wingdings [square]
highlight© replace > find what: --- , Replace with: paste [wingding square] replace all It does find all occurrences of --- but replace with an upright rectangle, which I believe means "undefined character" I have tried with other wingdings [2], [3] Any idea? Thank You Last edited by imported_contiw; 03-05-2014 at 02:10 PM. |

Is there a reason you're not using the Replace expression I posted?

Almost there Paul...
the "replace with" font format was missing wingding size and style and color ok now, the shape of wingding not yet... |

You don't need any of that!!! All you need do is to follow the instructions I posted...

Done...thank you Paul.
I am also able to modify size, color and style of the wingding. The problem was that "search and replace" maintains the previous settings when it is closed. I didn't notice that I was just accumulating settings. Thanks for your input. |

You can clear those by clicking on the 'No Formatting' button.

Without knowing what you're copying for the F/R, it's impossible to say.
