I've got an editing job in which I need to move a lot of words and phrases around the document. Is there a way to move selected text with keyboard shortcuts?
At the moment I am highlighting the text and then dragging it to the new position with the mouse. |

Ctrl-X will delete ("cut") it. Go to the new location. Ctrl-V will paste that deleted text. Therefore this can be considered a "move".

That's a lot of extra keystrokes compared to dragging with the mouse. Is there no way to move selected word/phrase with the keyboard?

I found some solutions.
At the paragraph level you can use alt+shift+up arrow. And you can move any selected text by pressing F2, moving the cursor and pressing ENTER to insert. |
