Default Issue with Embedding Multiple Graphs

I have an Excel workbook containing 13 worksheets. Each worksheet contains data and multiple charts that reference the data on the respective worksheet.

I have created a 23 page Word presentation in which I need to insert the Excel graphs. Initially I tried linking the graphs, but that will not work since the recipients of the Word presentation will not have access to the linked Excel file.

I then tried embedding the graphs by first copying each Excel graph and then pasting them into Word (using the paste option icon "keep source formatting & embed workbook". That seems to work and I'm able to print the Word presentation and everything looks good.

My issue, however, is this. When I attempt to update a chart in Word, I select the graph and then select "edit data". The workbook that opens is my original worked (not an embedded workbook). I need to be able to edit the graphs within Word so that users do not need the massive Excel file when they open the presentation.

Please help! Thanks!!!
