After installing, updating all necessary components, et al, my Office XP (Word) does not recognize any dictionary in the Proof folder, with an error message of "The custom dictionary C:\Documents and Settings\PB&J\Application Data\M...is not available."
Also, spell checker will not work, as if the dictionary .dll is corrupted, maybe? Even when right clicking an incorrectly spelled word, the drop-down menu does not give me an active 'add to dictionary' selection. It's there, just not active. When trying to spell check, the 'add to dictionary' button is not active. Anyone know how to fix this possibly? Reinstalling does not fix it, neither does kicking the tower or hitting a wall. darn. That used to always work with '95 and '98. HELP! ![]() ![]() Present machine is an HP dc5800 microtower, 2.4gHz@800, 2 gigs ram. I also downloaded all drivers from HP for it. One issue I had was an INTEL ICH9 LPC interface controller. Found driver and installed for system device, which eliminated all "!"s from the device manager, finally. |
