Default Page Number Issue

Hello! First post ever, ha! . I have an estimated 200 page thesis - all in one MS Word document. The page numbers are at the bottom and have three dots above the number (I also have roman numerals at the beginning, so I think I have what is called Section breaks, etc, can't really remember what I did x months ago to get the pagination to work). Anyway, I want these faint little three dots hovering over my page numbers to go away but can't figure out what they are? And don't want to mess up the pagination either, yikes! Any help or thoughts is greatly appreciated!

Default Dots

It would be easier to determine if you would post a blank page with one of these page numbers on it so that we could see the dots to which you're referring.

Best,
Ulodesk

Try again. What you posted is a Word docx file containing an image of a Word document at a page break, neither of which have page numbers. What is needed is a Word document that has the page number, not a picture of a Word document with a page number.

Default Fixed It

Charles and Ulodesk: Thank you both so much for your help. I fixed it. I took my two hundred page document and saved it to my desktop as a different file - then scrolled down the entire document and deleted everything but one page. I was going to attach this page to this posting - the actual thing, not a print screen - and then, by the time I did all that, I had a document that was one page and not my thesis, so I could just play around with it without fear of messing it all up, haha! And it was then, that I simply figured it out. And as always, it was SIMPLE, SIMPLE, SIMPLE. I just went to INSERT on the ribbon and then I had chosen a page number style that had the page number plus three dots for affect or whatever. So, I just chose page number without the three fancy dots and presto, 3 dots times 200 pages = poof, 600 dots gone!!!!!!!! Presto! So, thanks so much to both of you. And I've learned a valuable resource - this forum, which I have never used. Don't know where you guys are (I'm on the east coast), but cheers and thanks again!
