Problem with "Next page" section break automatically turning into "Odd or Even Page"
I'm trying to format a document that uses "Next Page" section breaks because we have different footers for each section of the document. However, I noticed that some of the section breaks are labelled as "Odd Page" section breaks which is messing up the page numbering of the document (e.g. jumping from page 17 to page 19). When I try to edit these "Odd Page" section breaks to normal "Next Page" ones, Office simply ignores my change and keeps them as "Odd Page" ones. Is there a simple fix to this, or do I have to re-do my page numbers for each section in order to maintain their accuracy? |

How are you trying to change the type of section? You should try changing the "Section start" option in the Page Setup dialog box (to display the dialog, click the dialog launcher button of the Page Setup group on the Page Layout tab or double-click the vertical ruler).
However, note that if you are restarting page numbers in a new section, Word may force an odd page break, because odd-numbered pages will always be as right-hand pages in Word.
