Kerning changes with copy/paste
I am creating some templates in Word and have tried the same thing in Publisher (2007). I have to select all, copy and paste the contents of the information into a 3rd party application. When I do so the kerning changes (some characters are too close to each other, creating a larger space between others). I am working with text boxes, lines and a picture. I tried also pasting into Word Pad and got the same results. Any ideas how to fix this issue?

Not sure what any of that has to do with creating a template. Further, I have read that three times and it reads that you have kerning issues when you paste into another application, not Word. This is a Word forum. Perhaps if you found a forum for that application you may get help.

The font face and size is as the original after pasting. I believe that inbuilt XP utility to process metafiles is the cause of this issue. I had someone try this on Windows 7 and the issue did not occur. Since it happens on both Word Pad and other applications, it is not a 3rd party issue. So it seems to be a Microsoft issue, but maybe not Word.

Appearances
This may not be part of the issue here, but I'll add anyway that screen view magnification can radically alter the appearance of kerning.
