Default Template Document Front Page with Select Options

Good Afternoon All,

I was wondering if I could possibly make a template front page with specific options to ensure my company uses a set format.

My Front Page has a table on it, requiring the user to input the following data
Revision No, Date, Reason for Issue, Originator, Checker and Approver.

I would like to make this table have a drop down menu. So under Rev you could select A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3, C1, C2, C3. depending which one you selected it might auto fill the Reason for Issue section with 'Internal Review'

Is any of this possible?

The reason for wanting to do this is because I'm in charge or document control for my company and all the engineers try to use their own Revision numbers, or write the reason for issue differently and it would be nice to have a single format for it all. If they would all just listen and follow my instructions it would be a lot easier, but they don't. So simply not giving them an option would be the easiest route!

Any help would be very appreciated!

What you need is a form, which you create with tools in the Developer tab. If it is not showing, you need to check the box for it in Options/Customize Ribbon. The form can have the dropdown boxes you create.

Best,

See Developer Tab for more on that option.

If all users will be on a Ribbon version of Word you can use Content Controls which allow greater flexibility. If earlier versions will be used, though, you would need to use legacy form fields (not ActiveX controls).
