Restart to 1 resets style to default
I have a document that uses a template I set up and sometimes have to restart a numbered list. When I restart the numbering, Word reformats the restarted item to the default location for that level.
For example, if I have a second level listing, i.e., an abc listing under a 123 listing, and restart the first second level item to a, Word moves that line from having a left margin at 0.75" and hanging indent at 0.5" to the Word default of the left margin at 1" with hanging indent at 0.75". The remaining items under the a item stay at the location I set for the style. How do I stop Word from changing my margins, indents, etc., to the default and using the saved style instead? |
