I figured it out. I happened to press Shift+Enter instead of just Enter and it worked. That's what I was looking for!

That won't work either. What you will end up with is a series of words with more space at the start of each line than at the ends, which still won't align. The reason they won't align is that the character widths are themselves different from each other. Consequently, the line ends will still be ragged. As I and Charles have both suggested, using Ctrl-Shift-J to distribute the text is about the best you'll be able to do. Even then, however, you'll have to make sure that none of your 'lines' wraps to the next line (e.g. by adjusting the point size and/or margins).

An alternative I wouldn't recommend is to make each 'line' a separate table cell and use the cell 'fit text' option without the 'wrap text' option. That will achieve a similar effect to Ctrl-Shift-J without first having to ensure none of your 'lines' wraps to the next line, but it does this by narrowing the characters on the wrapped lines.

Hi Philip,

He is already trying that. However, that will give the result of a line break that is not wanted and will cause problems. See his post and Macropod's response yesterday. Your suggestion is reasonable, just mistaken. When responding to these questions it is important to read the entire thread. (This is advice I need to follow as well.)

Ctrl-Shift-J will give the best approximation of what he wants. It is still imperfect. It is a different kind of justification than "Full" called "Distributed Text." It spreads text between indents by character rather than by word.
