I'm having a strange problem with office 2013 on windows 8.



i am working on a 100 page Word document with numerous excel tables, all "copy" (with the marching ants) from excel then to the word doc using "paste special..paste link..ms excel workshett object"

Frequently but not always, the resulting pasted area on the word doc just shows the bottom line of the excel sheet, with the paste area outline visiblevifbi click on it (but no content) showing up into the text above. In other words, the excel table doesn't come across on thevword doc, even though itbappears thatbit pasted - abovevwherebi wanted it.

however if i then open a new blank word doc and do the same "paste special" the excel table pastes perfectly fine. but i can't get the same result in the word document where i need it. this does not happen in every case on the large document. some cut/pastes work fine, usually justbin new sections at the end.

i assume that must have some sort of formatting problem in the large word document.

again, usually if i am pasting the excel sheet in new section at the end it pastes properly, but if i am inserting thatbsame table further up in the body in previous sections i have this apparent formatting problem.

i need to keep all links interactive to the excel workbook as this is a complex financial document with frequent updates.

i am guessing my problem is something simple, but i just can't figure it out. i upgraded a new pc with the windows 8 / office 2013 midway in this project.

any thoughts?

This may just be a display driver issue. Try checking your PC's display hardware maker's website for an updated driver.

i am on my 3rd call to hp tech support since i read your reply - this notebook is less than a month old and the first two reps i spoke with insisted there was no new display driver for this hp for 8.1 - but guess what - this last rep downloaded and installed drivers for me and ..it works!

man, you are good - don't ever let anyone say otherwise.
