I am trying to create a booklet in Microsoft Word. I added page numbers to the document. I have it set up so that the front page is not numbered. The next three pages are formatted to count i, ii, and iii. The fourth page is set to start numbering normally, starting at 1. In order to do this, I had to add Page Breaks to the document to separate the three different formats. Now, when I print the booklet, Word is adding blank pages into my booklet where the Page Breaks are. I have tried changing these breaks to Continuous, but they keep reverting to Next Page. Is there a way to suppress these blank pages?

Your document structure would require at least one 'Next page' section break. The first page could be handled via a 'different first page' layout. At the very least, such a setup would require the document to contain two printable pages - the front page and the first page from the final Section.

When you want to change the numbering it requires a new page, but not a blank page. Getting a blank page strictly from inserting a Section break generally requires a "new even page" or "new odd page" break.

You need to view your document in draft view with display of non-printing formatting marks turned on to get an idea of what is happening. Remember, each Section in Word has three headers and three footers, even if they are never displayed they can interact with headers and footers in subsequent Sections.

There is a big difference between Section breaks and page breaks although a Section break can include starting a new page.
