Moving Multiple Hyperlinked Files around
Hi all,
I am currently studying and looking to format all my study notes into word documents. Just trying to figure out the best way to do it so I can use them in the future when im working. I've figured the best way is to have multiple word files (maybe 20-30) and have hyperlinks throughout all of them. There will also be hyperlinks to pictures and PDF files. All of these files will be kept in one 'master' folder but the question I have is what happens if I need to change computer. Can this 'master folder' be switch from computer to computer still holding all its hyperlinks? and is it easy / possible to 'pack and go' the whole folder in one go? If this wasn't possible my thoughts were to use dropbox or the likes....however this will require a connection to access my notes. Any help would be good. Cheers, Harry |

To see how to implement hyperlink relative paths in Word, check out the field code solution I've posted at:
http://windowssecrets.com/forums/sho...External-Files Do note that changing the field codes, so they automatically point to the correct destination, does not update the display text. However, if you make the display text describe what's being linked, rather than where it's linked, that won't be an issue.
