Default ‘Save’ and 'Save As’ windows

The ‘Save’ and 'Save As’ windows in word have changed from showing folders to showing file properties. How can I change the view back to folders?

On your smaller window, the one with the properties, resize the window to make it taller. Your folders will show up.

By the way, the command and dialog is named "Save As" not "Save To."

Thanks for the reply. I tried increasing the size with no change. Ref 'Save To' - That is what happens when frustration sets in :-)

Increasing the size:
Make your problem window the same size as the one that is not a problem.

This is very weird that it does this, I know. I can get mine to look like your problem window just by making the window shorter. The note about the title was addressed more to the search engine on the site than to you. By putting the correct label in, I made this thread something that can be found by the search engine when someone else has the problem.

My biggest problem is that this is on my wife's laptop and she is very upset with me that I cannot fix it. I just tried changing the size on my desktop and it works as you said.

Found the solution in another thread - Word 2010 "Save As" has no folders

Thanks to Charles Kenyonfor pointing me in the right direction.

She should put her mouse pointer on the bottom border of the SaveAs dialog box until it becomes a two-pointed up-down arrow. Click and drag it down to expand the box.
That will expand it into a top and bottom with the top showing folders. She can then do the same thing with the mouse in the center of the dialog box and drag the center bar down to expand the folder area more.

When I expanded the box the folders were still not visible. I had to find the spot to drag the center bar down to see any folders. Wife is now happy.
